Now for a look at China's tourism data for the New Year holiday. China welcomed 133 million domestic tourists during the three-day New Year holiday. That was an 11 percent increase year on year.
Tourism revenue for the holiday stood at 75 billion yuan, also up 11 percent year on year. Tourists favored leisure trips to suburban areas or in the countryside. Hot springs, ice and snow themed spots were popular. The ice and snow world in Harbin greeted 117 thousand tourists and earned nearly 30 million yuan during the holiday. Several hot springs in Tianjin each received more than five thousand tourists a day during the New Year holiday.
