South Africa's ruling African National Congress party called a special meeting on Monday, as pressure grew on President Jacob Zuma to step down after years of scandal. The meeting discussed the 75-year-old leader's future. His presidency is now in the balance over long-running corruption allegations and a weakened economy. An ANC spokeswoman said there was no item on the party's agenda indicating the removal of President Zuma. On Monday, Zuma met the Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini. It is not clear yet whether the king would add his voice to those urging the president to step down.
