The nominated US ambassador to China is preparing to take on his new role. Iowa Governor Terry Branstad is in Washington wrapping up his last duties as governor of the state. In December he was nominated by US President Donald Trump as the country's next ambassador to China.
Before Branstad can become US ambassador to China he has to be confirmed by members of the US Senate. There's no date set yet for his hearing, but we do expect it will occur sometime this spring.
On Sunday he got an award for being the longest serving governor in US history. Our correspondent Jessica Stone caught up with him just after he received the award to talk about his new role.
