Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China will continue to make a "100-percent effort" to rescue foreign sailors still missing. Most are Iranian. Wang is on an official visit in Rwanda. He gave the reassurance during a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The Chinese government is paying close attention. China promptly mobilized vessels, equipment and personnel for the rescue. Wang Yi said China has invited professional teams from neighboring countries to help, and welcomes Iran as well. Zarif expressed gratitude. And he said Iran is willing to keep close communication and cooperation with China on the matter.
