According to the law, Chinese citizens aged 18 or above are eligible to run for the post of NPC deputy. In order to do so, at least 10 nominations from electoral conference members must be made for registration to be accepted. The maximum number each electoral conference member can nominate is 12. And each NPC term is five years. According to local NPC deputy election procedure, candidates also need to declare in their registration forms that they uphold the nation's Constitution, the Macao Basic Law, and have not received any form of funds in relation to the election from any foreign entity, organization, or individual.
