A car dashboard camera has captured the moment before a Japanese military helicopter crashed into a home in the country's south.

Japan's defense ministry said the helicopter crashed without warning seven minutes after takeoff. Communications with air traffic control had not indicated any irregularities. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has apologised for the incident. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Two Self Defense Force members were reportedly killed in the incident.
