Colombia Politics: FARC relaunches as revolutionary force party
[]
Colombia's FARC group has relaunched itself as a political party called the Common Alternative Revolutionary Force. Friday's move came as part of a week-long congress, in which the former guerilla group mapped out their political future following its disarmament which ended a 52-year-long civil conflict.

The new party is set to compete in next year's general elections. Regardless of how many votes the party wins, they are guaranteed five seats in both of the two legislative chambers for two terms -- under a peace deal signed with the government last year.
