PGA - Sentry Tournament of Champions: Leishman (-6) grabs opening round lead in Hawaii
[]
We head to Hawaii for golf, and the Tournament of Champions. Australian, Marc Leishman coming into the season on a high. He won the BMW Championship in September, and was runner-up the following month in South Korea, and failed to show any Christmas rest in the opening round of the 34-man event.
Dustin Johnson among those in the mix at the Plantation Course -- the world number one getting the eagle on number five. He is two back of the leader.
Recently engaged Jordan Spieth would struggle, he cans the bird on the same hole, but was 2-over in his round.
Brian Harman would be one of the early leaders -- reading the green perfectly on 8, and that puts him into top spot at minus three - he would end the round at 5-under and in a tie for second.
South Korean Si Woo Kim would also enjoy a stay atop the leaderboard, getting the bird on 17, sees him drop to 3-under. He ends the round two off the pace.
Rickie Fowler made a late charge -- getting this eagle putt on 18 -- helping him get to minus four, and two off the pace. The American was 4-under in his last five holes.
But the man to catch is Leishman -- getting the bird on 17 to see him drop to six-under and the outright lead.
The Aussie in front of Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas and American Brian Harman by one stroke. World number one Dustin Johnson among a trio two behind.
