And the torch relay is in its stretch run, with only a couple days to go till the lighting of the cauldron in Pyeongchang. Day 98 of the journey saw the Olympic symbol travel to Donghae, and get aboard an aquatic themed train.
That is one of the torchbearers getting ready to board the "Fish Train." The vehicle is decorated with a marine theme, thus its name -- but it also provides stunning ocean views for passengers who get a seat right beside the window.
The torch is then offered to Giovanni Merlo. The Italian, on the left, is the president of the International Sports Press Association, so basically the head of sports journalists. He would travel up to Chuam Chotdaebawi Rock. The journalist taking it atop the landscape, which is shaped like a candlestick facing the sky for another pose, and a lighting ceremony. The flame will conclude its journey Friday for the Games' Opening Ceremony. When it is all said and done, the torch relay will have covered 2,018 kilometres, and would have involved 75-hundred participants.
