An acclaimed film director, who made a movie predicting an incoming war between China and US, has warned against recent provocative policies by Washington, saying the outcome could be "disastrous."
"The Coming War on China" is Australian director John Pilger's 60th film, which was released in last December.
Pilger said a movie that challenged the stereotypes and myths undermining the understanding of the rise of China is long overdue, and motivated him to spend two years filming across five potential flashpoints in the Asia Pacific region. These places include the Marshall Islands, US military bases in Okinawa and Jeju islands, and Chinese cities.
Through rare archives and brutally straightforward interviews, the 113-minute documentary tries to make the point that after losing its economic prowess, Washington has turned, almost obsessively, to its military might, and the prospect of a nuclear war is no longer unthinkable.

The world's greatest military power, the US, and the world's second economic power, China, are heading to war, Pilger warns in his documentary.
In an exclusive interview with CGTN Liu Xin, host of "The Point," Pilger said a military confrontation between the two nuclear countries could lead to "disastrous consequences."
