The Civil Aviation Administration of China has posted a statement on their website, urging foreign airlines to take immediate measures to correct mistakes on their official websites, apps and other promotional platforms.
Earlier, Chinese authorities shut down Marriott International's domestic website, which listed Chinese territories Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao as countries. Multiple foreign airlines have also listed these regions as independent countries on their official websites.
Chinese authorities have asked the foreign airlines to take immediate steps to fix the mistakes, and promised to take legal steps to resolve the problem if the mistakes are not corrected.
