Libyan Airport Clashes: Armed group clashes kill nine in capital Tripoli

Armed clashes between rival militias have left nine people dead at an airport in the Libyan capital Tripoli. Gunmen are reported to have attacked Mitiga airport seeking to release colleagues detained by an Islamist militia that functions as a security force for the unity government. It was not immediately clear whether those killed were civilians or fighters. Local media reported that nearly 30 people had been wounded in the fighting. All flights to and from the airport have been suspended.
