The Chinese Foreign Ministry has urged all sides to remain calm and exercise restraint, after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted its latest missile launch.

The DPRK test-launched a ballistic missile early Monday from the country's eastern coast. The missile was fired from a location close to the city of Wonsan and flew some 450 kilometers, landing near Japan's territorial waters.

China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement "the situation on the Korean Peninsula is complex and sensitive, and we hope all relevant sides maintain calm and exercise restraint, ease the tense situation as soon as possible and put the issue back onto the correct track of peaceful dialogue."
