Global Stock Markets: Wall Street loses momentum

Stock markets in the US lost its new year momentum after firming for a few sessions.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost point-zero-7 percent. The S&P 500 dipped point-11 percent. And the Nasdaq Composite dropped point-14 percent. This performance was weighed by a report which says China is considering halting or reducing the purchase of US bonds. The report didn't name the source. Meanwhile, stock indices in the euro zone finished mixed. The British FTSE 100 gained point-1 percent. The German DAX lost point-84 percent. And the French CAC 40 was down point-41 percent.
