Eight people, including three security personnel have been injured in two successive blasts in Pakistan. CGTN's Danial Khan in Hyderabad has the details.
DANIAL KHAN HYDERABAD "As the whole world celebrates new year, Pakistan's celebrations were marred by two bomb attacks in the south-western Balochistan province. Reportedly, at least eight people were injured, including three security officials in two separate bomb blasts in Chaman. According to the police, an improvised explosive device was used in the first attack, that went off injuring 2 people. Another six people, were wounded in the second attack near a police checkpost in the same area. These twin attacks in Balochistan are the first incidents of terrorism in Pakistan in 2018. In 2017, Pakistan saw a rise in terror attacks against security forces and government officials. Following the latest wave of terror attacks and target killings of senior officials in the province, the chief of army general Bajwa said that the terrorists in desperation, are targeting law enforcement agencies and soft targets. Earlier, while delivering a message for the new year, the Army chief had said that a momentous year was over and that 2018 was of immense significance for Pakistan both internally and externally with monumental challenges.
