For ancient Chinese, the Mid-Autumn Festival was not only a time to taste mooncakes, but also a special moment to appreciate the moon with family and friends while composing or reciting poetry. Here's how a group of voice-over artists and enthusiasts in Beijing mark the occasion. Take a look.

When poetry meets Mid-Autumn Festival.

Here at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, voice-over enthusiasts celebrate the special occasion by reciting some of the most representative Chinese poems about the festival. This special celebration was initiated by Guansheng Culture, a company specializing in nurturing voice-over talents.

DU YUANZHI GENERAL MANAGER, GUANSHENG CULTURE The Mid-Autumn Festival was closely linked to ancient Chinese poetry and verse. By hosting the event we hope to showcase the charm of brilliant Chinese traditional culture and offer a platform for young voice-over talents to communicate and learn from industry professionals.

Participants take the stage in turns, reading their favorite poems. Voice-over master Ji Guanlin was also present. She rose to fame in 2013 after voicing the title character in Legend of Zhenhuan, a highly rated period drama that followed a young woman's rise from innocence to powerful queen.

Poetry and verses were a valuable part of the holiday. Nowadays, people know more about the mooncakes than the verses. So this is a great way to revive the ancient tradition.

For me it's a very special and memorable way to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. To be able to celebrate it with someone with the same interest and learn from the voice-over master Ji Guanlin.
