Stephon Marbury and the Beijing Ducks are missing the postseason for the first time in six years. This is an unfamiliar position for the Capital Squad, after a run of three titles in four seasons between 2012 and 2015. But it also leaves Marbury quite eager to return for one more campaign, and he discussed his plans for the future and much more with Mike Fox.
From his native Brooklyn to becoming a Beijing native, Marbury has used basketball to bridge together his two worlds in the US and China.
"From what people have seen in the transmission of coming to play basketball here, wining the championships, I think people approach different ideas about who I am as a basketball player," Marbury said.
"For me it's all about growing, coming to play basketball here in China allowed me to actually have a new fresh start".

Marbury has grown into a team leader in the capital, and the league is now expecting to develop under its new chairman, Hall of Famer Yao Ming.
CBA is definitely part of the preparation Chinese players have to undergo to battle the world. Marbury said that the CBA allows them to be able to go play abroad.
