Heavy snow continues to affect central and southern parts of China closing highways and causing train and flight cancellations.
Eastern Jiangsu Province saw snowfall of 11.6 millimeters, with a snow depth of up to 11 centimeters. Nearly 60 bus lines, over a thousand long-distance coaches and 500 flights have been suspended or canceled.  In central China's Hunan Province, many highway sections were closed, or limited the number of vehicles due to snow and ice. The snowy conditions are expected to ease in the coming week. Chinese weather authorities have downgraded their alert a notch from orange to blue. Many governmental departments are taking active measures to cope with the cold wave.
