One of the biggest concerns following the sinking of the Sanchi oil tanker is whether it will affect the fishing industry in the sea nearby. The site of the collision is not far from the Zhoushan Fishing Grounds, the biggest and most productive in China. Other fishing areas nearby are the East China Sea Fishing Ground and Lyusi Fishing Ground. Experts say that as the wind is currently blowing east, these fishing grounds have not yet been contaminated by the oil tanker.
