WTA Shenzhen Open: Zhang Shuai sweeps past Blinkova 6-3, 6-4

More tennis, and it has been a great start to the new year for Zhang Shuai. The third seed at the Shenzhen Open would get her first win of the 2018 season, as she sweeps past Russian qualifier Anna Blinkova.
That is Zhang at the top of your screen, and she grabs the opening set 6-3, with a crisp volley. In the second frame, the 19 year-old Russian is more aggressive, and is tied 4-4, but the Chinese breaks in the ninth game, and serves out the match to claim a 6-3, 6-4 win. She faces Kazakhstan's Zarina Diyas next.
That is five-time grand slam winner Maria Sharapova, who fires home an ace against Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu.
The crowd at the Shenzhen Longgang Tennis center would see the Russian in ruthless form taking the opening set 6-3. The former world number one needing just 80 minutes to sweep past her opponent, bagelling her in the second set.
