China's Consumption Markets: Retail sales jumped 10.2% in 2017

Chinese retail sales jumped more than 10 percent last year from the year before. That's according to a report from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. Tech and innovation seemed to be in play last year, with big data and artificial intelligence merging with traditional retail sales. Online retail sales reached 5.5 trillion yuan, rising 28 percent last year from the year before and making up 15% of the total retail sales. The Ministry of Commerce has also forecasted the trends in the consumption market this year.
