‘What is China?’ Could water shortages endanger development?

When it comes to water, China is facing multiple challenges. 
The country is grappling with severe shortages, and there are no easy solutions. It’s often a choice of how to live with what’s available and who should get the resources. Can China quench its thirst?
China's size means extremes. In some places, water is almost nonexistent. While, in other places, there's an illusion that it’s endless. ‍Official data show that 400 of China’s 669 cities suffer from water shortages, with 110 cities in a situation of “absolute scarcity”. 
In this “What is China?” special, CGTN’s reporter Han Bin looks at the growing shortage that could be a bottleneck for China’s development.
