Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is arriving in Chile, to attend the second ministerial meeting of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

Prior to his arrival, Wang published an article in Chile's official daily, entitled "The Time Is Ripe for Our Cooperation". In the article, Wang said one of the goals of the meeting is to increase cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries under the Belt and Road Initiative. Wang pointed out that China and the LAC region should enrich people-to-people exchanges, expand cooperation, and work out a roadmap and guidelines for future Belt and Road projects.
