A friendly football match between Chinese and German teenagers was scheduled on Wednesday. But this is no ordinary game since the spectators included German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chinese President Xi Jinping, who arrived in Germany on Tuesday.

The 29 teenagers on the Chinese team have been selected from among the best players in China's football academies. The German squad is an under-13 team from a club in Berlin. They rank first among more than 280 youth teams in the region, and the teenagers have played together for more than a year. 

The match is expected to last about 20 minutes for the boys' game and another 20 minutes for the girls'. Before the match, the teenagers shared their excitement about playing in front of such notable spectators.
