At least 40 people were injured after twin blasts hit the Thai town of Pattani on Tuesday,  AFP reported.
The first suspected car bomb exploded at the entrance of a Big-C shopping center in downtown Pattani after attackers parked a pickup truck outside the center. A second bomb was detonated when people fled the first explosion, local media reported.
"The first bomb was small and no one was hurt but the second bomb was huge -- I don't know yet whether it's a car bomb or not," AFP cited Captain Preecha Prachumchai of Pattani provincial police.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts. However, local media said Muslim separatists in the south of the predominantly Buddhist country might be behind the incident.
