China Trade Data: Imports and exports reverse down trend in 2017
[]
The demand for Chinese goods was high in 2017. New data from the General Administration of Customs shows, China's yuan-denominated exports rose 10.8 percent year on year last year. Yuan-denominated imports rose 18.7 percent. And that produced a trade surplus of 2.87 trillion yuan. The total value of imports and exports reached 27.79 trillion yuan last year, over 14 percent more than 2016. That reversed a two-year down trend. However, the customs office said, it will be hard for China's foreign trade growth to remain in the double digits this year.
