South Korean President Park Geun-hye has been removed from office as the country's constitutional court upheld the impeachment motion against her on Friday.
The ruling brings an end to months-long legal battle which has seen Park slowly falling from grace, however the chaos that has gripped the country is far from over – and political uncertainties now abound.

A presidential election is expected to be held within 60 days.
65-year-old Park was impeached by the National Assembly on influence peddling charges in December 2016. She has since been stripped of her presidential powers and duties but allowed to keep her title.
But how did the saga exactly unfold?

The constitutional court held its final hearing on February 28, but Park decided not to show up.
South Korea's parliament impeached President Park Geun-hye on 13 separate counts stemming from a wide-ranging corruption and abuse of power scandal.
Park was found to have colluded with her longtime confidante Choi Soon-sil to receive bribes amounting to 37 million US dollars from Samsung Group, said South Korea’s special prosecutor’s office during a press conference on Monday.
A total of 30 people, including Samsung Group's de facto leader Lee Jae-yong, were indicted in connection with the scandal.
