More Chinese tourists head for Belt and Road countries

China's three-day Labor Day Holiday, which started on Saturday, saw scores of Chinese tourists traveling abroad. Data provided by several online travel agencies show most Chinese travelers are choosing destinations along the route of China's Belt and Road Initiative, including Sri Lanka, Turkey, Russia and Iran. 
The National Tourism Bureau projects that during the 5 year period ending in 2020, 150 million Chinese tourists will spend over 200 billion US dollars in Belt and Road countries. 
Authorities say the development of the tourism industry under the initiative will strengthen regional non-governmental cooperation.
