China's amphibious aircraft AG600 is making its maiden flight in Zhuhai. AG600 is the world's largest amphibious plane and the first large specialist civil aircraft developed entirely in China. With a 36.9-meter body and 38.8-meter wingspan, it can compete with Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 in size. Its chief designer Huang Ling expects AG600 to play important roles in various tasks including forest fire control, maritime search and rescue.
