16 injured in iron factory explosion in northern Japan

16 people were injured in a furnace explosion at an ironworks on Tuesday morning in northern Japan, reported NHK. 
The blast took place at a factory in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, at 8:30 a.m. local time (2330 GMT Monday), with the injury count quickly increasing from five to 16, according to firefighters. 
Fire engines arrived on the scene, and blocked the area to prevent any further explosions.
