Two people were killed and over 20 injured after an estimated 20 tornadoes on Tuesday swept through several states in southern and mid-western US including Wisconsin, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service reported that the tornadoes touched down just after 5:30 p.m. local time (2330 GMT).
One person was killed when a tornado swept into a mobile home park in Wisconsin on Tuesday and another person died when a twister hit a housing subdivision in Oklahoma, as a massive severe storm system battered an area stretching from the South Plains of Texas to the Great Lakes.
A trailer park in Wisconsin was the most severely affected, with multiple mobile homes damaged.
Chetek Mayor Jeff Martin told KSTP-TV that numerous emergency vehicles went to the trailer park. He estimated the park had around 50 mobile homes.
According to local media, about 100 homes in Elk City, Oklahoma were destroyed too.
The tornadoes also downed power lines in multiple cities.
