Chinese and Vietnamese leaders have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, and Vietnam's Two Corridors and One Economic Circle proposal. The MOU was signed Sunday after talks in Hanoi between Chinese President Xi Jinping, who's also general secretary of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee, and his counterpart, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

 

They also agreed to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries.  President Xi is in Hanoi for a state visit. Earlier he attended a state banquet hosted by Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang.
