South Koreans will go to the polls to elect a new president on May 9, and Sunday is the deadline for candidates to declare their intention to run.
Several major political parties have already decided their candidates. Latest polls show that Moon Jae-in from the Minjoo Party is the frontrunner, but Ahn Cheol-soo from the People’s Party is closing the gap.
Campaigning officially begins on April 17, and will last 22 days.
