Just ahead of Friday's opening ceremony for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, the DPRK has held a military parade in its capital, Pyongyang to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of its armed forces.
DPRK leader Kim Jong Un -- who attended the 90-minute spectacle -- said his country was a "world class military power". Meanwhile, over the border, and in one of the most high-profile events ahead of the opening ceremony, the DPRK has raised its national flag in the Olympic Village in Gangneung. A sizeable art troupe from the country is expected to put on a 90-minute performance in the city later on Thursday.
