We begin in the Olympic city, where we are now just three days away from the opening of the Winter Games. 43 members of the Chinese delegation including the bobsleigh, skeleton, and curling teams arrived in Pyeongchang. Their arrival coinciding with the country's flag rising ceremony in Gangneung on Wednesday.
Leaders of the Chinese delegation arrived at the Inchon airport including the delegation secretary general Ni Huizhong. Seven bobsledders and one skeleton athlete among those touching down Monday. For the bobsleigh team, it is an important moment, as it marks the first time China will participate at the event at a Winter Games. An impressive accomplishment, as they only formed a squad in 2015, their impetus to form a group was after Beijing successfully won the right to host 2022 Winter Olympics. The Chinese curling team also arrived, with the women's and mixed doubles teams qualifying for the Games. The Chinese athletes received a nice welcome at the airport, but their focus is on the competition in South Korea.
