China's highly-anticipated Belt and Road Forum gets underway this Sunday. With 29 heads of state and government, as well as hundreds of dignitaries from around the world attending, it has naturally been attracting a lot of attention from the world's press.
Right next to the famous Bird's Nest stadium, which hosted the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games, is the China National Convention Center. It is the venue for day one of the Belt and Road Forum. An opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, and it will be followed by six parallel meeting sessions on subjects ranging from infrastructure and trade to financial cooperation.

With journalists expected from around the world, the convention center has converted two exhibition rooms for the hundreds of reporters. It also has rooms for press conferences, studios for interviews and plenty of workstations with Internet access, so reporters can file their copy as quickly as possible.

The official responsible for organizing the convention center for the forum is the vice mayor of Beijing, Cheng Hong. “We’ve finished all the hardware and software preparations for all the sessions. We are confident that we can host this forum with high standards”, said Cheng.
The forum will switch to the Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center for the second and final day on Monday.
