Back to football, and on the international front, Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has been announced as the new manager of Wales. The 41-year-old taking charge following the departure of Chris Coleman, who left to take the reins at Sunderland in November, and enters managerial life on a full time basis for the first time after a brief spell as the Red Devils caretaker in 2014.
The 41-year-old made 64 appearances for the Dragons in a 24-year career which saw him remain a one man club at Old Trafford. Giggs turned out 672 times for United, breaking the club's appearance record and playing past his 40th birthday. The former winger's only coaching experience came in 2013 when he was appointed as part of David Moyes staff as a player-coach in the season following the departure of decorated coach Sir Alex Ferguson. When Moyes was sacked just seven months into his tenure, Giggs took care of first team duties for the remainder of the season. Since reaching the last four at the 2016 Euros, Wales failed to qualify for the Russia World Cup despite only losing two games through-out qualifying and will take part in the China cup in Nanning starting March 22nd.
