Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Friday that he will officially demand the extradition of exiled preacher Fethullah Gulen from the United States.
“Turkey will pursue the issue of US-based Gulen’s extradition to the end,” said Erdogan.
Erdogan is scheduled to visit Washington and meet with his US counterpart Donald Trump on May 16. Erdogan said he would discuss the issue with President Trump.
Gulen and his followers are accused of masterminding last year's failed military coup in Turkey.
Gulen has denied the accusations.
