Lithuanian Basketball League: Prienu Vytautas introduce ball brothers
[]
More China related basketball news -- remember those college players caught for shoplifting late last year? There were three of them, they were all eventually suspended by their college, UCLA from playing this season. One of those players is LiAngelo Ball, brother of Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball. Following that ordeal, LiAngelo was pulled out of college by his dad, Lavar Ball. Papa Ball, then pulled his youngest son, LaMelo out of high school, and proclaimed that he was taking his sons to play in Lithuania. Well that is no longer a story but actually came true.
This was the scene as they were introduced by Prienu Vytautas, which is in the Lithuanian top tier. LiAngelo is the one in front, LaMelo has the hat on. And the brothers signed a one-year deal to play with the club, and show off their new shirts, LiAngelo will wear three, the youngest will wear number one. Dad also got a shirt. The siblings would practice with the squad. LiAngelo is 19, while LaMelo is 16, but could be a star in the making, as he famously scored more than 90 points in a high school game. The duo are expected to make their debuts January ninth, and have been a hit at the box office, as apparently the team has sold out their 1200 seat arena despite tripling the prices of tickets. It's unclear if dad, Lavar, who started his own shoe company, Big Baller Brand will remain with the boys as they try and play in Lithuania or return home to the US.
