German carmaker Daimler has issued an apology statement, after quoting the Dalai Lama in one of its social media posts.
In a written letter to Chinese Ambassador to Germany Shi Mingde, Daimler said the company had no intention of questioning or challenging China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The carmaker also said it offers no support or assistance to anyone who intentionally subverts or attempts to subvert China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Daimler on Monday had posted one of its white cars along with a quote of Dalai Lama on Instagram, causing uproar in China.
