Chinese authorities have ordered US hotel giant Marriott to shut down its Chinese mainland website and app for a week. The company had sent out a customer survey listing Taiwan, Tibet, and Hong Kong as separate countries. China's Foreign Ministry has warned foreign companies in the country to respect the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We welcome foreign companies to invest and run business in China. Meanwhile, the foreign companies in China should respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, abide by the Chinese laws and respect the feeling of Chinese people. This is the rule that every company investing and running business in other countries supposed to follow."
