Regarding Donald Tsang, who was jailed for 20 months for misconduct while he was in office as chief executive, Wu said it has received a mixed reaction in Hong Kong. Since the sentence was not decided by the prosecutor but by the law, the former chief executive now wants to appeal.
Wu said it’s the turning point for Hong Kong to be very much involved in proactive development globally. She said Hong Kong is always transforming itself like a phoenix, and she believes the SAR would move to a higher plateau with the support of central government.
