‍Chinese authorities on Thursday released information, including possible hiding places, of 22 corruption suspects who have fled overseas. Half of the 22 have fled to the US, New Zealand and Australia, Xinhua news agency reported.
The released information includes the name, gender, ID card number, former title, suspected crime, date of arrival in the current country and travel document number of each suspect, according to a statement from the office in charge of fugitive repatriation and asset recovery under the central anti-corruption coordination group. The fugitives are located down to the streets where they are believed to live.
China launched its anti-graft operation "Sky Net" in 2015 to tackle corruption, track down overseas suspects and bust underground banks. On April 17, the 40th person on the list of China's 100 most wanted corrupt fugitives was brought to justice.
By the end of March 2017, the "Sky Net" operation had brought 2,873 people who had fled overseas to justice. A total of 365 people are still at large and 581 others remain missing.
