In India, demonstrators from the country's lowest caste, the Dalits, have blocked roads and railways across Mumbai for a second day, essentially choking the lifeline of India's financial hub.
Their protests are in response to violence which broke out on Monday at an event commemorating a historical battle. Dalit leaders are accusing right-wing Hindus of inciting the clashes. The demonstrators obstructed roads, damaged buses and marched down railway tracks. The Maharashtra state government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the clashes.
