As for the 2018 Olympic torch relay, it reached Pyeongtaek, 150 kilometres away from the host city of PyeongChang. The flame bring warmth, and the Olympic spirit to locals.
Residents at the Pyeongtaek Eastern Social Welfare Society were given a chance to be part of the relay. The centre, which provides job skills for people with learning disabilities, was the latest stop on the "Relay for Everyone". The residents saw and touched an actual torch, and made one of their own, took part in events and learnt about the country hosting the Winter Olympiad in February. The highlight of the day is when they are actually given the opportunity to light and hoist the Olympic torch. The flame will reach its final destination February ninth when it will light the cauldron at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Games.
