Chinese online video hub Youku Thursday announced an exclusive deal with American entertainment company - Netflix - to distribute its online drama series "Day and Night" to overseas audiences for the first time. The thirty-two episode thriller has drawn more than four billion viewers since its debut in August this year. It is part of Youku's new content production strategy, which focuses on producing higher-quality original dramas. This is Netflix's first ever tie-up with Youku - the flagship streaming video service by Alibaba Group. The US company plans to make the Chinese series available in all countries and regions it is active.
