The US Senate Intelligence Committee issued a subpoena to former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn on Wednesday, requesting documents related to the panel's investigation into his interactions with Russian officials.
According to Senator Richard Burr, the Republican chairman, and Senator Mark Warner, the committee’s Democratic vice chairman, the panel asked for the documents from Flynn for the first time on April 28, but Flynn's lawyer declined to cooperate with the request.
Flynn resigned on February 13 amid raging controversy about his contacts with Russian officials before US President Donald Trump took office. He had been in the job for less than a month.
