And while the new hockey team step up their preparations, the Olympic flame moved one step closer to completing its journey. Yesterday, the torch relay reached Wonju, a city in Gangwon Province and the site of three crucial battles during the Korean war.
Part of the highlights from this visit to Wonju was a trip across South Korea's largest pedestrian bridge. The suspension bridge spans 200 metres and is part of the Sogeum Mountain hiking trail, a popular destination for tourists from around the world. By the time the flame reaches the Pyeongchang Olympic stadium next Friday, it would have travelled exactly 2,018 kilometers and been carried by 7,500 bearers since arriving in the nation on November 1st.
