Chinese President Xi Jinping has vowed to promote the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and pursue more open trade and economic development through the Belt and Road Initiative. He made the remarks during an inspection tour in south China’s Guangxi Zhang Autonomous Region on Wednesday. In Nanning, the Chinese president visited Alnan Aluminum Inc. and Nanning-Zhongguancun innovation demonstration base, where he highlighted the importance of innovation in driving economic growth.
