Montenegro hopes to enter new markets thanks to Belt and Road

Montenegro, one of the latest countries to join China's Belt and Road Initiative, showcased its best products during the China-Central and Eastern Europe Investment and Trade Expo in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province.
The CEE Expo was the first chance for Montenegro to have a taste of the Chinese market and the country hopes its products will now be sold in this new market.
Branko Perovic, Montenegro's ambassador to China, said that the country’s harbors could help Chinese products enter Central Europe and also help Montenegrin and European goods go straight to Ningbo.
Meanwhile, Chinese companies are also looking for new opportunities in central and eastern Europe.
Chinese merchants in Montenegro expect the Belt and Road Initiative to broaden their market horizon and give them greater access to consumers.
